Maintains a Cancer Registry database by identifying reportable neoplasms. Collect clinical data, code and enter medical information into the Registry database. In addition performing follow-up for the purposes of incidence, treatment and outcomes, performance improvement, administrative planning and marketing, support programs and research activities. Interprets data for research projects. Ensures adherence to data management protocols set forth to insure regulatory compliance standards. Assists with quality control activities, information requests, and quality improvement studies as requested.
Associates degree in Allied Health or related field required; Bachelor's degree preferred. One to two years of experience in a cancer registry or an allied health setting required. Eligibility to sit for CTR credential exam required and achieve certification within two years preferred. Eligibility to earn the CTR credential with Allied Health experience or a recent graduate may be considered. Ten years or more oncology related experience may substitute for the required education and/or CTR certification.
