The .5 Flex Weekend Staffing option is a retention strategy designed to voluntarily enhance weekend staffing thereby decreasing the required weekend staffing commitment of those staff who prefer not to work weekend shifts. This scheduling option is not a scheduling option with permanence and will be evaluated on an ongoing basis for its application to organizational needs. Cessation of the option may result at anytime. Organizational and departmental evaluation of this flexible option will occur as needed. Deliver direct quality patient care, utilizing at least a basic clinical skill level and knowledge base. Assess patients, develop, implement and evaluate/revise a plan of care, attend educational programs and staff orientation to promote personal and professional development. Develop a leadership role. Demonstrate support of research. Participate in Service Excellence Program.
ADN with current NC RN licensure required.
1-2 years clinical experience required
Regular Part Time (.6 FTE - 24 hrs/wk)
1. Participants must have minimally 1 year of experience in the department or in a similar clinical setting
2. Participants must have completed the initial probationary or trial period.
3. Participants must be minimally at the Fulfills Expectations performance level.
4. Absentee rate must be below the level requiring intervention (per Absenteeism policy).
5. Organizational seniority plus performance will be weighed by the manager to determine participation.
6. To avoid loss of benefit time, if an employee with a large vacation bank is selected into a WEO position, themanager should work with the Payroll Department Administrator to facilitate a one time vacation buyout as they move into the position. This is a one-time offer and must be
completed at the time of moving into the WEO position.
